trash talkin'

not so long ago i was that girl.  you know, that trash talking girl who would talk about her husband without any problem.  it's his fault right, he made me mad and he deserves it.  if he didn't want me to talk about him then he should't have done what he did.

once the Lord started doing His glorious work in our marriage He also started working in my heart.  i realized that when i would talk to others about our problems that i would then bring their opinions into our marriage, which just made our marriage worse.  once i stopped talking about my husband and our problems to others, our marriage improved greatly.

we need to remember that we all have our strengths and weaknesses.  guard your husband's weaknesses; don't announce them to the world.  i definitely have weaknesses.  i would be mortified and humiliated if my husband teased about it or loudly wished for someone with that strength.  remember the "golden rule"...Do to others as you would have them do to you Luke 6:31.

our husbands need our respect.  what a great way to respect them by not trash talking them.

Each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Ephesians 5:33
